ok, here's the lowdown. 18 kids are living in our house :

2 Blood brothers - (Zachary 12, Kyle 12)
2 Blood sisters - (Jaymee 14, Sylvee 9)
2 Adopted brothers - (Jason 19, Jacob 10)
2 Adopted sisters - (Jayden 7, Madelyne 7)
3 Step brothers - (Micah 8, Shayne 8, Joshua 6)
1 Half brother - (Noah 10 mo.)
2 Adopted step sisters - (Bridget 15, Emma 11)
1 Foster brother - (Derek 16)
2 cousins - (Jonah 3, Zoe 2)

i'm the second oldest (besides mom and dad, I'm 17) and i share a room with Jaymee and Bridget. i don't really expect to get any privacy with such a big family, but i would like to take a shower without being walked in on 5 x, and talk on the phone without somebody listening in, and a whole lot more. i love every single one of my sibs, don't get me wrong. but it's too much. and it's not just me, everybody get listened in on and walked in on. so since it's happening to everyone, am i being selfish?

Have you talked to your parents about this?

They have made a decision to add so many kids to the family...that is nice, but your complaint is valid....you do need some privacy, especially at your age.

The first thing to do would be to ask your father to fix the lock on the door, or hire someone to do it.

Ask your parents for some help in finding extra privacy for you.

Do you guys have a basement or another part of the house where you could set up your own room? Is there another bathroom you could use in the house? Your parents should be happy to let you use theirs if they have a separate one.
Let them know that their decision to have a big family is great, but that you really need some privacy.

How blessed you are to have such a big family! Heres what you can do. Hopefully you have a backyard? You can get a travel trailor and move into that. They usually come with bathrooms and showers, and you can get a cell right? and it would give you independance. Thats what my friend did when NINE new ppl (making 11 ppl), 24 cats and 4 dogs moved into his 1 bathroom 2 bedroom house. Hes soo happy. Best of luck!

Demand that a family meeting be held and voice your opinion.

Let them know how you feel, and be articulate (no shouting, throwing insults, but be clear and act as if you are a lawyer stating your case) when you say what is on your mind. And make sure your parents hear you too. Make sure to repeat your points and do not be easily swayed if you are not satisfied.

And afterwards, I'm pretty sure that they will give you privacy.

omg i feel so bad for you. With that many kids you cant expect to much privacy you could talk o your parents and try to set up a system were there is time were no one can go in your room or something creative be nice about it and hopefully your siblings will respect you at least a little more good luck hun.
