It really depends on not only their age, but the level of education...and how those classes would transfer over to an american school. I currently teach 9th and 10th grade (high school). I have some students born in 1991 that are in 9th grade, and some in 10th grade. Your 13 year old would be in 7th or 8th (middle school). Your 11 year old would be in 5th (elementary) to 6th grade (middle school).
Hope this helps. Many schools/school systems are different. Just be sure to check with the schools in your area.

Colleagues from work seconded to the States generally found that the american system was a year behind the UK, so the kids were deamed to be exceptionally bright - whereas here in the UK they had been a good average. However there are areas that we do not cover and knowledge gaps (which effect SATS and GCSE results) which you need to be aware of if you are on secondment and not settling permanently.

It would have been easier to just tell us how old they are. :-)

Most schools will make your children take a test to see what is the appropriate grade to put them in. Their age matters a little, but their ability to take the classes matters more. Based on age, however, your daughter would be looking at about 10th grade, approximately, depending on her educational abilities. Your son would likely be in 8th grade. Your youngest in 6th. But it really depends.
