Yes, you had better move quickly. It's like burning a cross on a black person's lawn. First it's the trash can lid and next comes the lynching. Once they start leaving the whole trash can at your place, then it's all over.

You call that harrassment? LoL When did trash can lids become a form of gay bashing? It sounds like your neighbors are out to get you! There is no way their trash can lid and your lawn should have ever met. It sounds like the wind is in on this to. I would watch your back!

Put the lid in the garbage. Once they lose a couple they will be more mindful of it. I think that if they had an issue with your sexuality, they would be more direct. If this is their attempt at it, it is a very poor one. Don't let it affect you.

Since the lid does not belong to you, and you've found it in your yard, consider it garbage.

If you truly feel that you are being harassed, make a police report. You should be able to live peacefully wherever you desire.

Good luck.

Calm down bro. There is definitely no need to jump to conclusions. I think the problem is that you are uncomfortable with your lifestyle. Dont worry about your neighbors, if you make an HONEST effort to be neighborly and they dont respond then screw them. Who are they to tell you how to live your life. The best answer here is to do what you know is right, dont start a fight over a lid because then they will want you gone. I would make an effort to be nice to them and see how they react. That will give you some idea of how they feel. Try giving a small gift (bottle of wine, small dinner gift certificate). But dont jump the gun because then you are the bad guy.

Hon, you don't have to be afraid of a trash can lid unless someone is using it for a shield and they have a sword in the other one. Then you can worry. If they objected to your gayness (cool word, huh) I think it would manifest itself in another form. It's probably wouldn't be that subtle. Most times it runs more towards you being in the trash can with the lid on so you probably have nothing to worry about. Now, back to that cool word. I could use it like a title to replace your highness. Sort of like a bow and then say, "good evening your gayness". Well, I'm sure you get my drift. Good Luck and God Bless

You say this happens once a week? Hmmm. Could it perhaps be trash day? I would blame it on the garbage collectors, they just throw the lids wherever. It's nothing personal.

I wouldn't worry about it to much buddy, it was probably the garbage man. If it wasn't the garbage man, then ask them politely to keep it in front of their yard.... but there is nothing really offensive about a trash can lid.

Because the trash can lid is in front of your house? I dont get it. Maybe you should move out because you are too paranoid perhaps.

It could just be that neighborhood dogs get in their trash and drag the lid to a spot that just happens to be your yard. I doubt they would try to harass you with a trash can lid.

Is it windy? Do you have any indication that this is on purpose? This seems like a rediculously subtle and therefore ineffective way to show intolerance, if that is what they are doing. Check the weather-maybe they just blew over.

Pepole who hate are generally a wee bit more overt about it.
