Since the majority of us have grown up being told pluto is a planet, and then saying that the scientists have lied to us, and go into some sort of mental break down, sue the US for mental distress over it. Do you think this might even hold up as a class action lawsuit?

I am not going to, but it would be amusing to see that case in court, and win. lol!

I just want to hear some opinions on this, and please, no stupid comments, just thought out responses.

Scientists did not lie....they simply have a new classification based on new data that has been collected over the years since Pluto was discovered. So they simply put it in a different classification based on the new data. It happens all the time because we learn and discover more and more everyday. If tomorrow someone says that the modern day members of the human race are no longer homo sapiens, but now we are some other classification...that does not mean you were lied to....it just means that there is now a new classification that fits better.

You can't teach the world something for so long and then just say "O we lyed, sorry" it doesn't work that way. There is definetly going to be some issues in court!
