You have met your match, my friend! A couple of years ago I went to a bonsai expo at the North Carolina Arboretum. Talk about some kick *** little trees! And they don't all look like the ones that you see at the grocery store and the flea market. These trees took YEARS of pruning and constant care. There was one that was over 100 years old and no taller than 2 feet! I think it was an oak... There were Japanese Maples, pine trees, dogwoods... everthing! They were so beautiful! Check this website out, it has some awesome pictures from many different categories of bonsais (even little tiny bonsai forests!)

Have fun, and don't be ashamed of loving little trees! :)

I don't relate to you language ~ 'cool trees' and 'totally rock.' The 'Dinky' part I do understand and relate to from my childhood where there was a make of toys, 'Dinky Cars.'
On the other hand, as an adult male beyond middle age, I have a certain 'fondness' for things that are 'miniature,' though I do have some boundaries too.
With all that said, 'I just Love Bonsai trees too, especially if set growing amongst rocks that represent some form of 'aggressive' landscape.

Dear Geeky: Join the club. They affect me that way too. About 20 years ago, I received my first one, and you can see what happened to me. You might want to check my website:
http://www.american-bonsai.com You're welcome to email at:
wchoat@american-bonsai.com if you wish. Be careful though, don't go by what you see in the movies or on TV. Most of them are show outdoor trees inside, and that will kill them. Bonsai are made from 100's of species of trees, and many can be kept inside, but you have to be extremely careful to make sure you get the right kind for you.

My tree lost all its leaves and appeared to be death so I planted exterior, left it for approximately six months and it replaced into greater healthy than while i offered it. remember there is not any such ingredient as an indoor Bonsai, ALL timber stay exterior, yet some tolerate being interior greater effective than others. i would not have theory the mantelpiece replaced into an perfect place to maintain it. additionally right now of twelve months conventional heating makes them thirsty. wish this facilitates.
