I'll bet JK Rowling had a similar conversation with herself.

Write your book to satisfy yourself and for your own sense of accomplishment.

It really is a big deal to #1 have a great story idea that inspires you to organize/sacrifice your time to write a book and #2 to actually finish the book.

Don't worry about how marketable it is - if/when you get an editor, it will be their job to figure that out. Right now - be the artist!
