Everyone is entitled to "Due Process." If she can't be found for service of process, you can usually get permission from the court to serve by publication.
You need to speak with an attorney first and foremost. Most divorces take time and if you are wanting to re-marry, you should get started right away.

Draw up the papers anyways. You don't have to know where she is to get a divorce. Sounds as the you have grounds right now. Desertion.......Courts can give a divorce decision with out her knowing or even being around.

Talking to a divorce lawyer would be the best idea. There is most likely a grounds of divorce available to you for desertion that you can file unilaterally, without your wife being present. Good luck.

Isn't there the possibility to go to the next registry office and annul that marriage because the partner is missing since years?
I think, since you are divided by the atlantic all in all it should be easy to turn "single" again.
As I said, just ask in that registry office, they'll give you every information you will need..

Contact the court of where you reside for more information an have them recommend an attorney. You may have to also contact the court in the province of Canada that you married.
Good luck.

The DMV keeps accurate records of everyone. That would be the first thing I would do. Contact them and see if you can find her that way. Also public records keeps listings of everyone and it is available to everyone. Check the public records office. Then, I would get an attorney. Try legal aid if you cant afford one, they will be able to locate her and start the paperwork.

Speak to a lawyer, and have marriage placed under abandonment.
That should get you the divorce.
