I was prescribe by my doctor to take clomid on my day 5 and I was wondering when to start counting. I did have my period start yesterday evening but it is so little, could that be day one? Or should I count today as day 1 where I do have my regular bleeding?

I was told to count day 1 as the first say of your cycle. Although I know some say day 1 should be the first day of actual blood.
Ask your doctor. They would know for sure. :)

My doctor told me that if I started bleeding/spotting after 5pm (or in the evening) then the next day would be day 1. So, the first full day of bleeding.

Usually day 1 is considered the first day of the full day of bleeding, not the day that starts spotting.

I was told to count your first day of full flow as the first day of your cycle, if your spotting or having an unusually light flow day, I would wait another day to see if the flow increases. If it does not then you can count that day as day one. If it does increase use the increased flow day as your day one. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't count the spotting as day one.
I would count the day that you had red flow as day one so that would be today

good luck
