How can so many interesting things happen just in 24 hours in the television series "24".?

I think the show is set up like a soap opera(on crack cocaine of course,everything happens at the speed of light,many things going on alll at the same time)and it's very fast paces with a shot of what's happening here or there,and it's one of those shows you cant wait to tune into because you NEVER KNOW what's going to happen next! Tune in next week,is how they bait you,and the writting is very good so far.

If you think about it, they need 24 interesting things to happen in a season since every episode requires something new, unique, and interesting to attract viewers.

That's the beauty of television writing, my friend. if something like that were real (and occurred repeatedly, as it does with Jack), with no down time at all during the day, then he'd probably have a heart attack.
