You might be able to get on with T-Mobile. They have a Smart Access plan that is for those that don't qualify for a standard plan. The Smart access plan has a spending limit. For a single line, you have a spending limit of $150 and for family plans you get a spending limit of $200. If you reach that amount, they cut the service until you bring it down to $100 on a single line or $150 on family plans. After a year, you can have them run your credit again, and as long as you make your payments on time, they may take you off of the smart access plan and allow you to get on a regular, non-spending limit plan. If you don't qualify for the Smart Access plan, they may charge you a deposit, or chose not to give you a phone.

As for Cricket, I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. A couple of my friends have Cricket and have loads of problems with the reception and dropped calls. They even have newer phones, too. He's got the Nokia slider from Cricket and she's got the Candid II.
