You mean to set you up to get one, or to actually do one at? There's a difference.

The better the med school you go to (as well as your grades and stuff of course), the better chance you have of getting a surgical residency. So, you can take a look at rankings such as this one: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/grad/rankings/med/brief/mdrrank_brief.php

If you're talking about where to actually do the surgical residency, you do them at teaching hospitals. Not all of them are attached to a medical university.

I suspect you're not from the US, so you're going to have to look into whether they even take foreign students or not.

i think it would be johns Hopkins in pa ,they are rated the no 1 hosp in the nation,but i have heard osf health care is great also look at them see what you think good luck
