For example you need a heart transplant and the only way you can get one is if someone else dies so is it ok that you pray for a heart transplant even though someone has to die for you to get one?

Don't worry, pray until you're blue in the face. It won't impact the outcome, no matter what. Prayer is the same as talking to yourself. It's just a wish, and wishes only come true by accident or cooincidence. Since there is no God and no Devil, I wouldn't worry. And besides, if someone dies and you get a heart transplant, that mean s that person was going to die, whether you prayed or wished for it, or not. And, sadly, if you don't get a heart transplant, then you were going to die, whether you prayed or not. We have no control over such things, and I know people that pray like to think they do, because it gives them a power trip when things go their way, but it's all really fantasy. It will either go your way, or it won't.

You can pray for the heart transplant, but not the death of the person who would die...

As a human it is only natural to want this. As long as you don't want to kill the person and think of only getting a transplant there will be nothing against you. You want the transplant and not a death, so your intentions are good. Naturally deep down you can't help but think this.

If you're praying for a heart transplant it's not necessarily praying for someone to die. People die everyday. You're just wanting someone to give you a chance at life.

People need to give donor notification on their driver's license. Why not contribute to someone else's hope for a better life?

I don't think it's right to pray for someone to die, just pray that the Lord will find that person a heart in time.

that person is gonna die weather they give that heart to some one or not so you are not really praying for their death, it was their choice to be an organ donor so its a really long list of people that need that heart so you are really praying is for u to be that lucky person and really for a chance of life , now life works in mysterious way that person can also all the sudden get better and their time might not be yet but when their time comes u best beleive they will be proud to save somebody's life , im an organ donor im only 22 but when its that time , i feel good that i'll be saving somebody's life someday.

WOW great question, i think that morally yes it is wrong, but personally between us if it was one of my kids who needed the heart i cant say i wouldn't. But instead of praying for someone to die, i think i would just pray that a heart becomes available for them. Its a tricky question though

No, I don't think that's okay. I think what would be okay would be to pray for the best thing to happen, whatever that might be, or pray for a miracle like your heart to start working better, or for a miracle new fake heart to become available...

Yes it's wrong. "Gee, I hope someone dies so it can benefit me." Yeah, that's real nice. Pray for an answer, pray for help, pray for a solution, but don't actually pray for someone direct death.

Unless it's like, Hitler or Osama Bin Laden or something..,. then it's cool.

As opposed to praying for someone else's death, you could pray that IF someone is to die, that their family would be comforted, the death will be as easy to bear fro them as possible, and that the loved ones of the deceased would somehow know that the gift of the departed's organ will be greatly appreciated and valued by it recipient (you).
