My sister had it done proffesionally and it still got infected so I'd advise you to not do it yourself.

Piercings guns are terrible for most motives. instead of reducing a hollow they push each thing aside which also makes it heal slower. no longer each of the time does the jewellery enable adequate space for the piercing to swell both. The little plastic gun they use won't be able to be sterilized both. someone with hepatitis may have had there ear pierced with that similar gun 20 minutes earlier. Any body that has easily been experienced in piercings and is universal with what they're doing would not use a gun. I do have 14 holes in my ears that were finished by ability of gun, 10 in my cartilage. 4 of them are starting to be contaminated. One were given to the point were i could not even deal with the soreness at the same time as my hair brushed on it. It stung a lot. I had 2 finished that the earring were given stuck in that's little casing so I had to sit down there at the same time as the lady performed with them tugging and twisting attempting to get them unstuck. That replaced into 2 diverse activities and 2 diverse human beings doing the piercing. I actually have had 15 more beneficial piercings finished by ability of needle none of them ever were given contaminated plus the damage a lot less.

It is always a bad idea to pierce something yourself. I have a peircing there and I got it done at a mall. It hurt a lot for the next 2 weeks just when I got it done at the mall so I can't imagine what it would be like if you did it yourself.

Don't do it yourself. You really should NEVER pierce anything yourself because even though you can take steps to sterilize equipment, you will probably never be able to get it as sterile as a professional shop could. You could potentially shatter your cartilage. It is even advised that you don't get it pierced with a gun. Go to a professional piercer and they will use a needle. This way, the potential to shatter cartilage is lessened because the piercer isn't just blindly using a gun to shoot the earring in...they are able to see where they're going and what they're doing.

i did my own, i used lots of ice to keep it numb and a safety pin. i am squeamish, and there really wasn't much blood. ( i know some people say to just go for it like ripping a band-aid off, but i took my time (it hurt less) about 1/2 hour. i put in a stud earring, and made sure to clean it with alcohol or peroxide twice a day. use a q-tip and clean both front and back. then i swabbed neosporin on both the front and back. (wear the earring loose so you can do all this swabbing) and you'll have to avoid sleeping on that side for a while.

It is definately not ok to do any kind of piercing yourself. It isn't that expensive to get it done professionally. I got both of mine done professionally and it still got infected. Chances are, if you do it yourself, it WILL get infected. Trust me, it isn't a nice experience. If it gets infected it hurts a million times worse.

What ever you do don't do it yourself when my sister got her's done they said u had to be extremely careful because there's a big blood vein running through that part of your ear and it's really hard to see. i wouldn't risk it and see a professional.
