Windermere is a beautiful area, where a lot of celebrities live that stay in the Central FL area. It is an older area (compared to many surrounding areas), that has that small town feel to it. The area is pretty safe, and is a speed trap, so beware if you drive through to set your cruise control and don't go a mile over (very strict here). The schools are ok not excellent not horrible compared to the rest of the US, but in the county the schools are just about as good as they get.

Yes, yes, yes and yes! Windermere is a lovely area. Lots of lakes, close to Orlando and attractions area.

Windermere is a great place to live, not too far from the attractions. The schools are excellent and it is a relatively safe place, compared to the cities that surround it

Windermere is a very nice area with excellent schools and is nestled in a safe (often lake front) environment. However, homes in this area are VERY pricey.

Its not bad. A bit rural at least the last time I was through, but the place is being developed so darn fast. I'd say it was probably about average or a little better as areas go.
