does anyone have any good learning questions or stories of how you learned a long hard lesson?

one that i have is ,,there was an area just out of town where a house caught on fire ,the people called the 911 and waited ,but no one showed up, why???because no one could decide who should go ,the county said it was the citys and the city said it was the countys....so the house burned to the ground.......moral to it is ......some one has to act sometimes no matter if its not your problem...........tell me your story ??? thanks in advance
