I was on the shot for 3 years, then stopped getting my injections - I didn't have a period for 7 months, and now I'm VERY irregular.

If you DID regulate after going off - how long did it take? It's been almost a year!

I had a horrible time coming off the shot. Except I was opposite from you, I would have my period for three weeks and then maybe a week off, then have it for another three. It was horrible! But after awhile i finally got regualr again. So regular in fact that I would get my period every 4th saturday around 8pm! Good Luck.

It's going to take your body some time to adjust to not being on the pill since pill users get into the routine of stopping periods when they use the pill. Your body has been used to taking it for so long that your chemistry is off. If you're irregular that's to be expected when your body is getting back to normal from getting off the pill.

You might experience some changes like spotting, temporary weight gain, and irregular periods. If you're having concerns talk to your doctor about what can be done.

I was on the Depo for at least 3 years also. I stopped for a while (like a year) and it took months for me to get pregnant. My period was never regular before the Depo and it still is not. I am using it again but I am thinking of quitting. I really don't miss my period though.

Hope you find something that works for you. Tried the pill?

I was on the shot for 2 1/2 years, I went off the shot because we wanted another child. Meaning in February of 2006 I was due for my shot and never got it. I started bleeding about 2 weeks later, for a few days. In April of 2006 my periods started again, and were regular. In july of 2006 I conceived our third child. I think everybody's body reacts differently to depo. Hopefully you'll become regular soon, if not talk to your doc and maybe he/she can put you on something to help regulate. Good luck.

Depo messed me up horribly. I had one shot when I was 17 and didn't have a period for 15 months.
I didn't get pregnant for 7 years.
But now I have a baby on the way so it all worked out in the end.

I didn`t get mine back for over a year. Then I had two back to back miscarriages.( Which I believe the shot was to blame).I have done research on the Internet and alot of women have had problems with not getting their period back, irregular, miscarriages and infertility..And some women have no problems and get pregnant within a month of getting of it..Different women have different reactions to it but I wouldn`t recommend it to nobody..Talk to your doctor if you haven`t already..Good Luck.

From what I have read it is very common to be irregular for a while...It is going to take some time for your body to get back into the swing of things!

My friend got pregnant 1 month after coming off Depo-Provera .. be careful! use some kind of protection if you don't want a baby.
I've only done ortho-tri-cyclin .. never depo.

good luck! God bless!
