I had one and no mine didnt hurt. The clinic I went to gave me an IV that put me to sleep after takin 3 deep breaths! The whole procedure I was asleep. If they dont offer you to be put asleep then you should request it. I was 9 weeks when I had mine done. I heard that they do them up to 24 weeks or 6months. Do what you need to to for your health. Remember God knows where your heart is in this situation.

They can do abortions two ways. Some put you to sleep, and some may have you awake. If your awake it's going to hurt. If you go to a clinic that will put you to sleep then you won't feel the pain. Try to find a place that will put you to sleep. Being awake and feeling that pain is not good. I've had two and I'm not ashamed to say so. It's not something I'm proud of but it happened. When I was put to sleep I didn't feel a thing afterwards. I was just sleepy. Find out if the place your going to be getting the abortion at puts you to sleep or not. If they don't then try to find another place that does.

No, it doesn't hurt any more than a very long and pushy pap test. You could get some cramping afterwards similar to your period. If you are nervous you can ask for a mild tranquilizer which will calm you down for a few hours. I did elect to go under general anesthesia for the procedure because I'd rather not have to think about what's going on. It was fine afterwards and never had any other problems.

I'm against abortion cuz wut it does to you emotionally I'm 15 and just had a surgical abortion 5 days ago, I was 10 weeks, 6 days, you spend hours there cuz theres so many people there but from the time I walked in the procedure room and from the time I walked out the whole thing was about 3 minutes, I've asked questions on here before I got it done and alot of people were saying it hurts the longer yuo wait, they will have to dilate you and since your 10 weeks they will your cervix will be dilated wide but before it, they give you a local numbing medicine and inject into your cervix you don't feel it, they dilate you and they use a suction machine to suck the fetus out,ta your uterus, I'm not gonna lie, they will be alot of discomfort, but it feels more intensely uncomfortable than intensely painfull and I'm sure you'd rather be uncomfortable than be in pain, the procedure takes less than 3 minutes to do, so it's not that bad at all, they might offer valium and if not they give you a sedative thru an IV, and it's mixed with a narcotic but it depends on what they offer at your clinic but you'll have some sort of pain/numbin meds i promise, don't worry and just relax I know I got done but I am soo against it, I feel horrible about it i asked god for forgiveness
p.s. please think long and hard about it, for watever reason your gettin it done it'll change your life forever.

i don't think there is really a good answer for this, every woman is different, so asking if one hurt while getting it wouldn't be the same for you. everything has some sort of after affect. just as a woman whose had a spontanious abortion (miscarriage) would sometimes feel pain and others not at all. hopes that helps a little.

It does hurt. But for me the long term emotional pain was worse that the actual pain. Sorry to hear that this is happening to you.
