I definitely support the war on terrorism. I grew up as an army brat in Europe and I know that other countries respect strength and know to take advantage when they see weakness on the part of our government and military. The only way to keep our country safe is to search out terrorism and use strong methods to retaliate against aggression. I don't want core American rights and values to be sacrificed however to do this. There must be balance

War on a verb? No support from me. Meaningless expression invented by politicians.

Anti terrorism? I am against all forms of violence and that includes terrorism from wherever it comes.

Our troops? We form an army to do a job, whats not to respect?

Our leaders who send our troops on meaningless missions? Now THAT is something I can disrespect.

The 9-11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia and Egypt in the USA on legal visas so we attacked Iraq and built the Homeland Security empire?
I feel the ultimate shame for the stupidity of our leaders.

I believe in combating terrorism. I don't think it can be fought using conventional methods. The most effective strategy is covert and highly technological.

After 9/11 our nation was poised for retaliation. We had the the support of most nations. Bush and his cronies squandered that support by switching gears and pursuing a personal vendetta against Saddam.

I respect our men and women of the armed services, they have a tough job. The fact is they do what they are told. I don't fault the service members, the fault lies squarely on the shoulders of our leaders.

I definitely do not support the war for 2 reasons:

1) We are fighting an idea, and if history has taught us anything it is that ideas cannot be destroyed!

2) We are fighting to prevent some people from possibly performing an act in the future. How would you like our own justice system here in America to work that way? - Someone just puts you in jail for 50 years because they think you might one day kill a guy.

I do respect american soldiers because they protect our country. I don't understand why people link "not supporting the war, with not supporting our troops". I just don't support the war that they are being forced to fight

I did support it, until our dim-witted president decided to invade Iraq.

The Afghanistan invasion was justified.
We, as a nation, were within our right to go into that nation and seek out the organization that caused the events of 11 September 2001.

However, due to narrow-minded, short-sighted leaders in Washington, we lost sight of the objective.

Now, we're hearing rumblings of a possible battle in Afghanistan this spring.
And why?
Because ALL our resources are locked in Iraq.
We've gone soft on the Taliban.
We don't care where Osama is.

Oops!
Somebody goofed!
Somebody f--ked up, BIG TIME.

And yes, I FULLY support our troops.
It is so unfair and unfortunate that our leaders do not.
The troops were sent to Iraq WITHOUT proper support, equipment or an exit strategy.
This, despite warnings NOT to do this by seasoned military leaders.

Once again - oops!

No, it's a ridiculous concept just like the war on drugs.

And no, I don't respect America's soldiers. The "honor" in serving one's country is a myth created only to sucker people into joining the military.

Yes I support this war against western civilization. It is based upon a hijacked religion; a twisted Islamic ideology. Adherents will stop at nothing to destroy us and our culture. They use their own desperately poor people, brainwashing them from birth, to strap bombs to their body and kill innocent civilians. The terrorists are not part of any government or nation. Eventually, their goal is to annihilate the west with atomic bombs. We must stop them.
