I am a electrical and electronics graduate, and work for a very known rail company, but not as an engineer. Mainly doing adminstrative work, adding date into documents and so on.
I start forgeting things I learned at university as my job does not relate to them. Can I still be succseful iven if do not work as an engineer

i believe that ssuccess is based on happiness so if you are happy with the job that you do then that is fine, it sounds as though you may not be using all of the skills you learned at uni and this is the case for a lot of graduates, you have the qualification but nit the practical experience, did you ask at your interview whether or not there was the scope to move up the ladder within this company, it may just be that you have to start at the bottom and work your way up, however if you want to be an engineer then admin work is not really going to help you achieve this,speak to your boss and explain how you feel, perhaps you could be looking for other jobs in the meantime that are more suited to your obvious intelligence and talent, good luck and reach for the stars, you may hit the moon. emma

Do you feel successful? Are you happy, making enough money? If you like what you are doing and it fits your needs, then your already there. If your hating it and wanting to be a engineer see if you can get a job doing that with your rail company.

Yeah! my sister trained to be a teacher and is now successful in something totally different! degrees are about having the willing and hard work to get a degree, not necessarily about having a degree in a particular field.

Also I think success is what you make of it. I feel successful because I'm living and working in an area i've always wanted to. my brother won't feel successful until he's a physiotherapist.

yes ,you can be successful.once we learn 2 swimming,v wil not 4get it 4ever,just lik dat wen u learn ur subject with ur own interest u will not 4get it 4r ever.concentrate on ur job n gain experience.create intrest n work.surely u will succeed in ur life.
