Patrick was born in Roman Britain in 373ad. There were some pieces of Scotland that belonged to Britain at the time. He was kidnapped by Irish raiders when he was 16, came back to Britain when he was 20, then went back to Ireland after becoming a clergyman, but I don't recall how old he was then. He died on March 17, 493ad.

One thing is sure that he came from Britain but no one knows for certain where. It is Said by some that he came from Wales. That he was from a Roman Family or that he was a Romanised Briton from a well to do Family. He was captured by Irish Pirates and sold as a Slave and used as a Sheperd for minding Sheep on Sliamh Mish Mountain. He eventually escaped back home to Britain. The Story goes that he had a Dream of an Angel telling him to come to Ireland and save the irish by Converting them to Chistianity. Which He done when he was 20. He is buried in Downpatrick in Northern Ireland.

He was born in the north west of England, but could have been born in Scotland. His actual birthplace is in question, but you might find a clue in his confessions. Here is a link:

I'm pretty sure it was Britain, but someone recently told me he was Portuguese! Haven't checked that one out yet.
