I went to a community college for journalism but never finished for personal reasons now Im ready to go back and get my degree. What schools are the best for this degree? I want to be an editor. And I dont want to go across the US either. I want to stay local or online. I live in Chicago, IL. Please help.

Right there in your hometown!
Northwestern.
I wish I'd gone there for my journalism degree.
My other choice would have been U. of Missouri.
Choose one...they are both excellent.

You should look into attending the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. Their journalism program is pretty good. I will graduate from it next spring!
Otherwise I'd look into UW-Madison they have the best journalism program in WI.
Both are a 2 or so hour drive from Chicago.
