Microwave ovens emit harmful genetic damaging radiation. They heat food by causing molecular friction. It is not advised that you stand right in front of one when it's in operation. Stand several feet away while they are in operation. And never try and use one that has a damaged door etc... And very important --> Do not put metal objects in the microwave oven, it will cause sparks and burn the magnetron tub. With a few exceptions, some covered metal objects can be put i the microwave, but to be on the safe side you should steer clear of putting metal objects in it.

It's interesting how people are cautious around microwave ovens yet they think nothing of putting a cell phone right next to their ear when they use it. The same type of radiation in a cell phone is emitted as when a microwave oven is on, only in much reduced amounts. However I don't put a cell phone up to my ear when I talk because all instructions recommend that a person hold it at least 4 inches from their head when using it.

Maybe when they first came out with them years ago. With today's technology and safety standards that companies have to meet before a product hits the consumers market the answer is no. Microwaves are as safe as your t.v. set in the living room.

They certainly are! When falling from heights of 3m or more microwave ovens can cause serious injury. Remember, when walking through areas prone for falling microwaves always wear a helmet!

I do not think it is dangerous. Though some people said it not healthy and microwave cooked food are not good for health. Some people also said that microwave radiation reduce nutrition value of food. But there are no such strong report or research is available and no Government has put a ban on using microwave oven.
So being a common users of microwave oven we should rely on expert s researches and Government decision. But there is no such strong direction is available. So I think should use microwave oven without any hesitation. Rather I would say it is healthy as microwave cooked food need less oil thank cooked in traditional way.

microwaves give off radiation and I've heard that you shouldn't stare at your microwave while it's working because that's where you'll get the radiation
