1) Don't assume you'll have twins. Just relax and realize that as far as conception goes, you have little say.
2) You'll have a shorter term. Very few multiples go to term.
3) MOST symtpoms will probably be multiplied. Ever had morning sickness? You'll probably be floored.
4) Expect to have a higher chance of micarriage of one or both. This isn't to say that it's GOING to happen, but the chances are higher.
5) You'll probably be put on early bed rest, either at home or at the hospital. Especially if you are over or underweight, have diabetes, and/or high blood pressure (either occuring before or during pregnancy) expect doctors to take extra precaution.
6) Unless you are given the go by doctors, you'll probably have to have a c-section. That's not to say that all doctors will push for a c-section, but it will be most easier on you, especially if this is your first birth. First births are long and hard for anyone!
Talk to your doctor though. I don't know what you mean by being next in line for twins, but you really should just talk to your doctor and ask these sorts of questions.

Don't stress over it until you are actually pregnant with twins.
However, I have twins and I had a pretty normal pregnancy. I only delivered 2 1/2 weeks early, and they were well enough to leave the hospital with me 4 days later. I gained 52 pounds during my pregnancy with the twins and I was extremely uncomfortable, especially toward the end of the pregnancy. Not everyone has complications, but there is always the chance for early labor & delivery, twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, or just complications that come with any pregnancy, whether it's multiples or not. Relax...worry when it's time to worry.

I have twins and ther are lots of complications, but complications can come with any pregnancy. Mine were normal and the worst part of the pregnancy was that i was INCREDIBLY uncomfortable most of the pregnancy. Just take care of yourself and dont worry about complications until you actually are pregnant. Theres no need for that stress when you dont have to. BTW there no guarantee youll have twins anyway

Twins run in my family, and I am a twin. There has never been comlications with birth in the family. Its no different then giving birth to one baby, really.

its actually hardly any bit more dangerous than a normal pregnancy.
the only problems I've heard of are extra weight gain, because you are carrying two babies, which can hurt your back and make sleeping more difficult.
