30!!!!!!
Honest to God, I thought I was going to die! Actually I thought dying would have been better. Then, thankfully, the epidural man came. I LOVE the epidural man. I think I may have even asked him to marry me. :) In front of my husband no less!

When I had each of my children I was given an epidural after I was induced. The part that hurt the most for me was being induced since your water doesnt break naturally the pain is really intense and then the epidural hurt going in. With my last child, I opted to try pain meds in the IV, but the pain was so bad that I couldnt stay comfortable so I had the epidural and was almost given it too late so I felt it all with the last one. I would say with the first 3 the pain was a 1 maybe a 2 during the delivery but if you count the induction and the epidural maybe a 3 or 4. With the last child the pain was a 10 times 10, it was bad.

When I went into labor the nurse gave the same scale. 1 being manageable 10 being someone sawing off your arm. I have to say after two kids 16hrs and 36hrs of labor with no epidural or pain killers the pain is 10+. After labor when you hold that new life that was ripped from your body it seems worth it. Believe it or not as soon as it is over I could not remember why I had just been asking my husband to kill me and put me out of my misery. The pain is gone instantly, you are a bit sore(couldn't walk right for a week or so after #2) for a few weeks but it is so worth it. Obviously the ability to make life outweighs the brief yet horrendous pain.

Like most things in life childbirth is different for every woman. My Mother use to tell me it was no worse than having a tooth pulled.LOL She had eight children. I have one child and he weighed 10 lbs. at birth and thought I was dying--but I had a short time of delivery and women are just made to forget the pain quickly.

First and third child was maybe a 2 to a 1. No pain what so ever.
Second child hurt like crazy and would easily give it a 8. Tore and had to get stitched up down there too, OUCH!
Different for different people...

I would put it on a 2 it only hurt for a little while and then it was all over and I had my baby in my arms. The tatoo on my ankle hurt worse than giving birth did.
