Actually greed is the root of all evil. Greed is what makes us want more than what we already have and less thankful for the things that we need to cherish now. But then again, money is the root of all greed. It acomplishes many great aspects and comforts when we have a lot of greed. Nad true it does cause destruction. But one thing, money maybe the root of all greed, it may not buy you love but there's a whole lot of things that money can do like put the pedal to the medal when the rent comes through and all sorts

No, not so. If we use it in a wrong way it seems so. It is a measure of development
For eg if we have no point system in yahoo answers, we will not find it this much interesting
No money- no competition- no struggle- no interest
GREED is the root cause of evils.

No, the root of all evil is the tyrant. Have you ever asked, "What is the root of all money?" My answer is the rational mind, but many say it is productivity or service.
But it is foolish to reject the value of something priceless: love, friendship, alliances, air, life/health, freedom, etc. Those who value money too much tend to undervalue things which money cannot buy, and that can empower evil.

Fixated irrational desire for something is the root of evil to a degree. Greed of money, greed of evil, greed of pride are a few examples. There are a few folks who have a lot and give a lot back.

No money is not the root of all evil. The love of money is. We all need money to provide food for one thing. When we seek money for money's sake and usually at the expense of human love, now that is evil.

The LOVE of money is the root. Get it right. Putting money first above anything is what is wrong.
Money is just a tool. How it is used is based on the character of the person who owns it.

Certainly NOT!
Attitudes like this about money come from another era when people grew, hunted and gathered, made for themselves or traded with their neighbors for whatever they needed to get through life.
"Money" as we know it existed almost exclusively for the ruling classes and bought the extravagant trappings of their excessively affluent lifestyles, but the everyday commoner could be born, live a full life and die without ever even SEEING a minted coin.
There are a few places left like this in the “third world”, today, but I certainly don’t live in one of them and - since you use and probably own a computer - I am guessing that you don’t either.
In our modern, industrialized world, practically the only way we can acquire ANYTHING is to exchange some form of money for it. Therefore, the more money we have, the better we are equipped to meet our survival needs and provide ourselves and our loved-ones with extras above and beyond those minimal basics. In other words, the more money we have to spend, the more choices we have and the greater the potential for improving the quality of our lifestyle.
So is it “evil” to want a better lifestyle? To strive for the better is a natural human condition, and when it is thwarted, the mentally, emotionally and spiritually unhealthy state we call “apathy” sets in. The human soul NEEDS a challenge, it NEEDS goals to aim at and work towards, and most goals include an improvement in our lifestyle that will, monetarily, cost something to achieve.
Money, in whatever form it takes, is referred to as a “medium of exchange”.
The operative word here is “EXCHANGE”.
We start by offering something we have (ideas, time and energy, etc) to those who want and need it (employers, customers, etc.) in exchange for money, and then we offer that money in exchange for the goods and services that we, ourselves, want or need.
This is “exchange”.
Is it “evil” to aspire to a higher exchange rate with life?
Almost all of us want more out of life, but most of us understand that in order to GET more, we must be ready, willing and able to GIVE more.
When we want more, at the unfair expense of others, without being willing to give more, then that becomes “GREED”.
“MONEY” is not the root of all evil, but “GREED” certainly qualifies for that dubious title.
