You usually get your an initial vaginal ultrasound and then after that you get one around 20 wks or so. Unless you are high risk then you sometimes get one at every visit.

You should get an ultrasound when you go to the doctor. More than likely if you tell them that you had a miscarriage then they would do an ultrasound and monitor you closely to prevent it from happeneing again. You should call an ask the nurse to be sure. I know how that feels.

You probably wont have a scan, they are done at 20 weeks, unless you are having problems now. The doctor may try to hear the heartbeat, but don't get upset if he doesn't or if you can't hear it. The heartbeat is usually not heard at 9 weeks. Be patient, I know how anxious this time can be but things will happen soon enough.

I got my first u/s at 8-9 weeks. It was done trans-vaginally b/c the fetus is too small to pick up through the belly. THe sono tech was able to play the sound of the heartbeat during the u/s. If your pregnancy is normal (not high risk), you'll probably have to wait until somewhere around 20 weeks for your next sono. Good luck!

With my son I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks to see how far along I was. He looked like a little peanut! So cute. They may end up doing one to check to make sure you are developing ok and especially since you have been on bedrest. Hearing your babies heartbeat takes your breath away. Don't stress though you have made it this far, your doctor is just trying to be careful with you so you don't miscarry again.

Different doctors, believe differently about ultrasounds. It's usually around 16-21 wks. If you have history of miscarriage, you can often talk to your doctor and see if you can get an earlier one done. I had an ultrasound done at 10 wks, because I had my daughter at 24 wks and they were also checking my cervix. Talk to your doctor.

Some doctors give you one everytime you go for a visit, mine does. Some doctors if your not high risk give you one at 20 weeks/ 5 months. You should be hearing your babys heart beat when you go to the doctor now. When you go to the doctor on friday he should listen for a heart beat.

probably too early to detect heartbeat with their monitoring device. You probaby won't have an ultra sound unless you're having some problems. the doctor will prob do a vaginal check and he can tell from that if your uterus feels as it should for 9 weeks. The next appt you will prob be able to hear heartbeat. good luck
