Dont do it.
I used to work for a jewellers and I would definately never recommend anyone buys it online
I think youve answered your own question really, do you really want to part with over £500 for something you have never seen?
Online jewellers often misinform their buyers of the quality of the piece, and quality is much more important than the size if you want a good quality piece. You should be looking for the 4 C's (cut, colour, clarity and carat) if its a diamond. Seek an independent website for more info on this.

Also, many online diamonds are 'created stones' which means they werent naturally made in the ground and then mined, they were made in a lab,, or artificially coloured to make them look better, why would you want to pay for that?

Many online retailers also get their diamonds from places involved in conflict (i.e. the selling on diamonds is funding terrorism, civil wars etc.) so you must ask them whether their diamonds are part of the 'Kimberly agreement', which states that diamonds are conflict free.

Basically you never know what you're getting over the internet, it mightnt even be a real diamond/ real gold etc? Most everyday ppl wouldnt be able to tell the difference, but remember your paying for it.

You have to see a piece of jewellery in the flesh to see if its good quality, my suggestion would be to go to a jewellery shop and ask them to explain to you about the 4 C's, difference between 9ct 18ct gold and platinum, etc. You can ask them anything and dont have to buy.

Obviously you will do what you think is best at the end of dsay, but as someone who's has worked in the trade I would STRONGLY warn you against it.

Good luck

You have obviously done your search and found one that you feel in love with. I know you can't touch the item you selected which is frustrating. For while you are admiring it on line, you would like to put it against you whether it suits. I feel that there is really no difference in buying clothes or shoes as you would want to try them as well. But you can not do this until they arrive.

If the website is anything to go by, it should have all the description that is necessary. In jewellery, it would have the karatage of the gold, the weight in grams and the option for sizes as well as any stones that are set in a piece.

You are right to be cautious. However, I found that the majority of these places have a no quibble money back guarantee. The only thing is you have to pay postage & packing both ways should you be unhappy with your purchase.

To put your mind at risk, I buy jewellery on line from Italy. I feel that even if I paid shipment and tax, I still consider it a bargain because 18KT gold in the UK is of a ridiculous price.

The biggest online jewellery I purchased was of a cleopatra necklace in 18KT for £300 plus shipment. Had I bought this in UK it would be double the price.

Hope this helps.

I have bought lots of jewellery pieces from Ebay.
If I had £500 I wouldn't spend that on one piece of jewellery.
There are ways of feeling a bit secure on ebay.
You can check the feedback comments from previous buyers.
If they are a shop, they usually offer a refund, where you can give the item back if it isn't right.

you have of course performed your seek and located one which you're feeling in love with. i be responsive to you are able to not touch the item you chose this is complicated. For while you're admiring it on line, you're able to need to place it against you no count if it suits. i think that there is fairly no distinction in paying for garments or shoes as you're able to need to attempt them besides. yet you are able to not try this till they arrive. If the cyber web website is something to pass by employing, it would desire to have each and all of the outline this is needed. In rings, it could have the karatage of the gold, the load in grams and the alternative for sizes besides as any stones that are set in a chunk. you're precise to be careful. even regardless of the indisputable fact that, i got here upon that maximum individuals of those places have a no quibble money back assure. the only project is you would be able to desire to pay postage & packing the two strategies would desire to you be unhappy with your purchase. to place your concepts in threat, i purchase rings on line from Italy. i think that whether I paid shipment and tax, I nonetheless evaluate it a good deal because of the fact 18KT gold interior the united kingdom is of a ludicrous value. the biggest on line rings i bought replaced into of a cleopatra necklace in 18KT for £3 hundred plus shipment. Had i bought this in uk it could be double the fee. desire this permits.
