a pack of gum or a can of sody or a candybar or busfare 1 way or something from dollar tree or something off the dollar menu or 1/3 to 1/2 of a gallon of gas or a newspaper.
a dollar can still buy you a lot but it could buy you a lot more back in the day.
its amazing isnt it.
a gallon of gas used to cost fifteen cents,
a movie ticket cost a dime
and...
a coke was a nickel.
so...
you could get 5 gallons of gas to drive to the movies and have a coke for a dollar.
