When I read this, I immediately thought of my grandma. If someone would ever do something like that to her, I would personally make it my mission to find them and make them suffer. How could someone attack an elderly woman? And then to only get like $33. What is this world coming to????

How sad that the guy was so full of rage, or drugs or whatever that he would take it out on anyone especially an older woman. It must have made him feel very manly. Sad, but convinces me even more that the end times described in scripture are upon us. Mmm

Sorry to say but from what I have read and saw on TV this is nothing new. This person attacked another elderly person that day too. Not much was reported about that attack though because the person attacked was not so old.
The hype that has been created by this story is due to the media. If the media did not bring this story to our attention this kind of thing would keep happening and no one would care as before....because know one thinks about such things happening.
It is horrible what happened, my question is why was this 101 year old lady alone? Where is her family? Is the buddy system only for the young? If the elderly in our society were not throw away people this sort of thing would never happen for the elderly person would have family around them.
The issue being why are the elderly people of today not cared for or treated like human beings. Left alone by relatives to be in the situation to be beaten as this lady was? Why is it that the elderly die in there homes and not found for days sometimes weeks by anyone? Why does the elderly have such crappy living conditions and or health conditions? Why do families disregard there elderly family members....or send them off to care facilities never to be visited by family. This news broadcast just brings to light what can and does happen on a daily bases to the elderly.
As for what a person would do if this happened to there elderly family memeber....if it is not on TV and the elderly person is to ashamed to broadcast it , who would know? When was the last time you spent any time with your grandmother?

That happened 10 minutes from where I live. I feel so outraged but then again, I can't go beat up every black guy who is in his 30's and wear a winter coat with fur.

I tend to be a peaceful person, however, I think Barry Bonds should use that person's body for batting practice, starting at the knees and working up to the head.
it's disgusting, but it's a reflection of our society... target the weak and those unable to fight back...
