1. Be Persuasive
Tell him how you can benefit the company, but don't be too forceful.
2. Be Realistic, but aim high
Start high because then you can compormise in the middle. If you start too low, your boss won't see the point in giving you a tiny raise.
3. Use the right tone
Avoid threats and ultimatums. Be reasonable and try to see both sides.
4. Clarify Your Interests
Maybe they can't give you a pay rise, but they can give you other benefits such as bonuses, increased holiday, health care etc
5. Anticipate Your Boss’s Interests
Just like you, your boss has needs and concerns. Try to find ideas which correlate with your boss’s - if you address things that are important to him, he is more likely to say yes.
6. Create Several Options
Remember that there isn’t always one answer - try and come up with some alternatives
7. Be Objective
The objectives must be realistic. Find out what other people in the same sector and job are being paid and what benefits they get.
8. What are the alternatives?
Assuming you boss says no, what is your backup plan?
9. Prepare Yourself
Invest energy into preparing your facts and ’speech’. If you are confident and you know your subject well, you are more likely to get the raise.
10. Learn
Learn from your experiences. Analyse what went well, what didn't go so well, and highlight where you could have improved.

I was always told that if you want a pay rise then you have to show them what "extra" you will give to the company. So make a list of things that you do and show them why they deserve to give you more money.
I asked for a pay rise back along. The boss wanted me to prove what people's salaries were at other companies. So I went on an online recruiment agency & printed off what other companies were willing to pay thei employees. He then gave me a satisfactory pay rise.
Good luck mate. Just think how much better ya would feel tomorrow morning knowing that you had asked for the rise and you boss was considering it.

Firstly look over your previous work, and see for yourself what you have done for them, for how long etc. any new contracts, or working over hours, etc.
Then approach with your confidence, know that your worth a lot more. Civil talk to them at a meeting u arrange, adn discuss how you feel you had been woring at the compnay for X amount of time and had proven yoruself/worked hard/earn them more money than before and that you would like to put yoruself up for a raise/promotion.
But make sure that they dont do revisions of work year themselves, otherwise you could be going at a bad time. Just simply ask for a review on the work you have done, for feedback if it is. and good luck.

don't threaten to leave, my god that really makes you look responsible. jesus. anyways maek your case. say to your boss, i believe that i deserves this because.... give details, how you save the company money, why you believe they could benifit from you earning more if your doing more than your job description mention it, but be careful not to put down your co workers that makes you look imature. be honest don't whine though, don't say well, my rents late. that won't help. just show them why your worth more than they pay you.

Make a list of all the duties you carry out, go to your line manager and calmly say you feel you are worth more than you are being paid and state the reasons.
I`ll see you in the dole queue!!

you should sit down with one of your bosses and explain to them in detail just how valuable of an asset you are! if you have a spotless attendence record, if you go the extra mile by volunteering for overtime, and other things you feel are valuable to them! particularly, an ENTHUSIASTIC ATTITUDE! MOST EMPLOYERS, when they see a great work attitude, will be more than happy to see it your way, if they have any class!

go after another job that pays more. then give that info to your current employer. if they like you they may offer to match that amount or even pay more
this way you get to find out what you are worth and satisfy yourself

You get another job offer offering more money and put it in your boss' face. Shame you have to do this, but it's really the only way to get a substantial raise.

Organize your reasons for making the request. Just don't go in boss's office and ask without preparing for it.
