Just make like a tree and leave or. . .
Do like a baby and head out!

Break away and start a new life somewhere else, make new friends and get a new job. Break all ties with the present environment.

I was in a situation quite like yours quite a few years ago. I remember it well though! I was living with a guy and not working. I had a child around 4 years old then and he really adored this guy. Things got ugly after about a year and i was totally miserable in the relationship. I felt so stuck and worthless. I had no where to go, no one to help me and was totally dependant on this man for everything. He even paid for my birth control pills, he thought that gave him the right to use me whenever he wanted to though. One day I had had all I could take, I was so stressed out my hair was falling out in patches. I went to the welfare department and they helped me get an apartment in low income projects and i got food stamps and wic for my son. By this time, I was pregnant again with "His" baby. It took all the courage I could muster up to leave that nice house and the comfortable surrounding, but the abuse I took everyday from him was too, too much. I felt like I was dying inside and if I didn;t get away, my kids would be without a mother. I took the apartment, enrolled in night classes and soon after my daughter was born I had earned my CNA license. (state certified nursing license). When my baby was 6 months old, i was able to find a reliable sitter and go to work in a nursing home starting out at $13.00 an hour. That was almost 30 years ago! I went from there to college and earned my masters in Physcology. If you want it bad enough, you can do it! It takes a lot of sacrificing and asking for help sometimes, but you can do whatever you set your mind too. Never forget that. Hopelessness is the abscence of hope, and we are never without that, it is within all of us, especially YOU!!

Well, my husband's company relocated us 3/4 of the way across the country. It meant a great pay increase and promotion, but I really don't like it here, my career went down the tubes, and I'm homesick and miss my family. How's that for depressing?!
