How long should you keep makeup before you throw it away?

I know you can't keep mascara that long but what about eyeshadow? I saw something really gross on Tyra about bacteria that grows but I can't remember how long they said you could keep stuff....

Ok this is a question i know...I keep my mascare for one month, i put the date that i got the mascare on the bottle and then i put the experation date then on that day i throw it out!!!!then for tmy eye liner i do the same thing!!!!for the base and powder i would do the same thing but about 2 or 3 months!!!!!!

If you use your foundation daily, it will not last long enough for you to worry.The mascara and liquid eye-liners should be tossed every 3 months,bacteria grows and you need to protect your eyes.The powder shadows,as long as you still use them.Hope this helps...Thanks for 2.

I believe 6 months to a year is the max for any make up. that is what I tell my clients.

my mom told me never to keep my makeup longer that 3 -4 months and then i should throw it away

Keep it until you think it`s not IN anymore! LOL jkz

When it starts to get clumpy and old. Well, you can sort of just tell. You know, when you get the "Ahh, I think it`s time for me to buy a new one" feeling.

1 YEAR! other wise all the oils and stuff inside the make up will go bad and it smells funny and it actually does more harm to your face then good.
