Again, what word best describes the action or thought process, when one agrees with you, merely for the benefit of avoiding a disagreement, but their actions in practice don't seem to substantiate their agreement? Patronize, comes to mind, but I don't think that is it.

ADMIT - the word implies reluctance to disclose, grant, or concede and refers usually to facts rather than their implications
