This may seem like a silly question but I'm really curious. My best friend always had BAD menstral cramps. When she had her miscarriage, she need pain killers because she was in so much pain. My cramps have never been bad at all, and when I had my miscarriage, I was ok. A little discomfort but, ok. Do you think this is any indication on how bad labor will be for me. Obviously it will be bad. I dont have a high threshold for pain eiher, so I know its not that. I'm 32 weeks btw.
Thanks

lol we wish! NO a miscarriage happens when the fetus is about an inch long those are tiny cramps compared to a 5 lb + baby coming out. Child birth is the worse pain you will probably never have. A miscarriage is like having a little harder period and isnt very painful, asprins would take care of that pain. Child birth is a whole other kind of pain, they give way better meds for pain, or numb you. The more scared you are the worse the pain. Take classes and read up on it, so you know exactly whats going on and why. The more you understand the more helpful it is doing child birth. After you reach a 5 in labor you can be numbed to help ease the pain, but the baby also gets these meds which makes them sleeping etc after birth.

Oh my honey, NO!! I never have had very bad menstrual cramps and labor is much worse than that. Don't be scared though. There are many things that you can do to get through contractions. The best thing that I found was finding something to concentrate on during a contraction, and doing my breathing. Then when the time comes, you can have an epidural if you wish. It's quite uncomfortable, but in the long run, helps with the pain if it gets too intense. In the end.....it's all worth it!!! You have a beautiful little one in your arms!!!! You really don't remember the actual pain, you remember more of the experience. Good luck hon!!! I wish you the very best, congrats to you!!!! (Remember, it can't be all bad, I have had 3 kids lol)

Menstrual cramps are no comparison to contractions. Contractions are wayyyy stronger than some period cramps. Even the girls with serious pain menstrual cramps will experience even more painful contractions. Sorry dear but your not getting out the easy way. Everyone is different, but also contractions arent easy to go through. Lets just say labor isnt for whimps. A period doesnt come close to labor!! and believe me, you wont have an easy labor.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine how bad your menstral cramps are would have very little to do with how painful your contractions are. You're lucky you don't get bad menstral cramps, but they aren't necessary to have a period. The contractions have to push a baby out regardless of how bad your menstral cramps are. Maybe you'll have a little less pain than your friend, but I doubt that it would be significant. Good luck.

Menstral cramps are just like contractions but less painful. Menstral cramps is contractions really its just pushing the blood and all that stuff out during you're period. Contractions on the other hand its going to be more painful because well their pushing out a baby! But i wish you the best of luck having you're baby!

LOL that was the biggest misconception I had and it was because of the drs saying it only hurt like a major menstrual cramp. But I can tell ya its nothing like it. Its worse and gets gradually worser. Especially back labor. But you'll be alright. I don't even remember the pain much just the experience. Mine was cut off because of having to have an emergency c-section. You'll remember your child more than the pain!

Labor is tough for almost all women. I don't think having mild menstral cramps will spare you -- sorry. I suggest taking a child birth class if you haven't already. They will help you with pain management, because even if you plan an epidural/pain meds, they won't be able to give it to you throughout your entire labor. Good luck!

It really depends....I had cramps so bad when I was younger it would double me over and keep me in bed. Two of my labors were excruciating....no where close to the pain of my already bad cramps. My second daughter however if the wouldn't have given me pitocin her labor would have been a breeze as the contractions were only mild period like and I was only in labor for 4 hours....but they had to give me pitocin and I had one big huge contraction for like an hour straight...it was horrible.

replace: If the cramping is persevering with... as you merely as much as date, then, merely bypass on into the medical institution. My water did no longer injury until the half-hour previously I had my daughter, that replaced into after 22 hours of hard artwork pains. I went from 3 centameters to totally diolated in 30minutes. My element is, merely reason your water hasn't broken would not recommend which you will no longer have the toddler quickly. With consistent cramping as you defined, i might merely bypass on into the medical institution. ______________________________________... Sounds conventional. save timing each thing. Your contractions may well be closer than you think of. that's quite helpful to easily bypass to the medical institution now.
