I vote for fun educational places.
Here are a few places to visit in Dallas:
The Dallas Zoo
The Dallas World Aquarium
Dallas Children's Museum
The Model Trains at Children's Medical Center
Take a ride on a light rail train (DART) to the zoo
Frontiers of Flight Museum

Here are the websites to visit in order as listed above:
www.dallas-zoo.org
www.natureandscience.org
www.childrens.com
www.dwazoo.com/aquarium.html
www.dart.org (public transportation- ie: light rail)
www.flightmuseum.com

As far as hotel, how much do you want to spend ? Do you have an area of town in mind? (near shopping, food, attractions, etc?) How far do you want to drive once in Dallas?
