Firstly, getting an English Lit degree is pretty cool! I wanted to study it but i'll probably end up doing mass comm instead cause the school that i wanna go to do not have it. You can get jobs in various sectors.

English teacher, an English Literature teacher, a General Paper teacher for high school college level depending on your degree if you get honours or not.

Author, Editor, Newspaper journalist, Reporter (you probably need a diploma in communication studies to go along with your degree)

If you study Shakespeare (which i think you probably do) you can be an expert in that field and be a reseacher or anaylst for Shakespeare's work in a university.

They are many more cause its not really so limited as many people would think.

My personal opinion is that having an english lit degree means basically that you have a degree. Unless you want to teach (which you can't do with nothing more than a bachelor's degree), I don't see how the subject helps you get any job.
