we also had to replace vents we could not find the correct size for. my husband tore out the underside of the soffet (I don't know if this is the correct term) and bought some of those vent strips that go clear across the eave. He had to cut them into 9 inch strips and put them into the grooves (front and back) one at a time until the whole eave was vented. It really went very fast though since they locked into each other..

If the vents you are finding are larger....cut the hole bigger. If they are smaller....buy some aluminum, the same color as the vent, cut it big enough to fill the hole, cut a hole in it for the vent you bought, put it all together with pop rivets, and install under the eave.

Can you make an 8x12 cover the opening? Or enlarge the holes to 10x12?
