Those of you who had toxemia, did any one you have a premature birth?

How early was the birth? Mine was at 27 weeks.

I had one preterm at 36 weeks. He was very healthy!! Hope yours is too!

My friend had toxaemia and so did her baby. They were spending time in Jamaica when she took ill and had to be rushed back home. She had to hide her condition on the air plane or they would have never let her travel. It was touch and go for the both of them and spent many weeks in the hospital . I don't think the birth was too premature. They both are doing fine 5 years later.

I had a strep infection in the womb. When my baby was born she was covered in a slimy green pea soup goop. The doctor made me push her out an inch at a time, until they could remove all the goop. I went on line when I got home and learned that the baby could have been born blind, deaf, crippled, mental handicapped or still born. Luckily for us she is great without any side effects. She is 9 now and healthy.

I was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia (toxemia) at 26 weeks and had my little girl at 27 weeks, weighing 1 lb. 14 oz. at birth. She was in the NICU for 4 months (16 weeks exactly). She's now 13 months old and doing amazing. =)

My sister delivered my niece at 34 weeks after being induced. She had severe morning sickness until she was 51/2 months pregnant. then she ended up with high blood pressure and toxemia. my niece only weighed 4pounds 12ounces but she was breathing on her own and eating normally. so they let her go home with mom after the normal 2 day stay in the hospital. Good luck and congratulations. Be strong for your baby because they can feel you fighting for them.
