why is yawning SO contagious??

My husband calls it the "yawn wave." It's like dropping a pebble into a pond, it starts with one little ripple and it just sprends until the whole pond ripples. It starts with one little yawn and then it hits everyone around you. lol, yeah, he's put way too much thought into it!!!

cant really tell you.... i think its some thing in your head that makes you yawn when you see someone else yawning
