What has happened to our society that so many men need or want this enhancement? Why have men suddenly become unable to perform? Is it something toxic in all the processed foods we eat? The pesticides we use on our food? The pollution in our environment? Or is it simply that women have taken up more masculine roles and it has created inadequecy issues in our men?
I'm really curious as to what you all think about this, because to me it's alarming how many ads I see on TV for Viagra, Enzyte etc. I don't want to live in a society where even the sexual relationships depend upon a pill to make it happen! Perhaps this is a reaction to all the fake body parts and bottle spawned hair that women have these days? Perhaps men say that they like these things, but really they wish for the comfort of a REAL woman who doesn't mutilate her body with plastic parts?
Thank you for your thoughts on this subject, please no rudeness, just honest, reflective opinions!

How does it help their ego to need a pill to perform?

I can agree that our crappy diet and sedentary lifestyle are contributing...but I don't see that as the root of the problem.

Over 50 grama- No I am not suggesting that anyone give up sex. I'm also not direction this question towards those who have a LEGIT medical reason for using the drug. I'm speaking about the younger, healthy men who need this drug or even just WANT the drug.

I think part of the answer has to do with how most of us have sedentary lifestyles. I have a desk job, and I'm starting to really hate how I don't get much exercise. Well a sedentary lifestyle does affect blood flow (both to the brain and "other parts" of the body).
Viagra is known to increase blood flow to the brain (and probably to the rest of the body as well) so obviously it should have a good effect.
I think if we would be more active, the use of stuff like Viagra would go down.
I don't take it yet, but I don't believe it is purely an "EGO" issue for a lot of men. Believe it or not, some of us care about whether our wives actually enjoy sex. If a guy has an erectile dysfunction or has trouble lasting long enough for her to enjoy, I think it would be a rather unselfish thing for him to look for ways to fix his problems so that his wife might get to enjoy it as well.
I have thought of trying viagra, but for other reasons that have nothing to do with sex. ( it has been used successfully in children with developmental problems).

And another thought... (go ahead and feel free to send me hate messages)... some men might have to take viagra just to keep "it" from going limp the moment they take a look at their morbidly obese wives. I personally know some like this.

I have no idea what causes ED. My problem began when I was 52 years old. I've been married 37 yrs. to my one and only girlfriend. I'm otherwise in perfect health.

Although sexual desires cool off as one gets older we felt something had to be done as I could not get or maintain an erection for satisfying sex. Mind you we don't chase each other around the house like newlyweds anymore. It's important to us to have a full loving relationship a couple times per month.

Some couples just say to heck with it and that's perfectly fine. Some women do not want anything to do with sex after they have children. I however agree with you in this respect. The medicine is being misused. Anybody can complain to their Dr. that they are having ED problems and walk out with a prescription. Especially people with medical insurance.

Don't be troubled with all the medications being pushed off on TV these days. Apparently it's legal although I do not agree with any pharmaceutical advertising. I personally cringe when ED, psychiatric medications and fake herbals that claim astounding results are advertised. I feel people under high school age should not be exposed to this advertising at all.

I'm a plain and simple person. All the crappy Do Da touch ups are for people with strong vanity of self image. As for myself what a crock. I could care less. What you see is the real ugly me. As for my wife she's a Registered Nurse as well as my daughter. They are both very conservitive. Let the good times roll for all others . It's America

Generic Viagra is an effective treatment for male erectile dysfunction, or ED. This is also known as impotence. Generic Viagra is a little blue pill you take only when you want to have sex. Generic Viagra helps men consistently get and keep an erection when they become sexually stimulated.
Generic Viagra enables men with ED to respond to sexual stimulation. When a man is sexually excited, the arteries in his penis relax and widen. This allows more blood to flow into the penis. The increased blood flow causes the penis to become hard and erect. The veins that normally carry blood away from the penis then become compressed. This restricts the blood flow out of the penis. With more blood flowing in and less flowing out, the penis enlarges, resulting in an erection. Sometimes the nerves or blood vessels that are part of this process don't work properly. If this happens, a man may not be able to get or keep an erection. Generic Viagra increases blood flow to the penis, so that when a man is sexually excited, he can consistently get and keep an erection. When he is done having sex, the erection goes away.

I'm glad people are really thinking. The drug world has become the ultimate pusher, and seeks users everywhere, for everything now.
I would also like to know if TV, and a high fat diet is adding to our lethargic state of body and mind.
And maybe it is the natural response of our species to the threat of overpopulation. Fertility rates in women and men are going down all over the world. AIDS may have come from our own DNA. And the general rescoping of men is contributing to the slowdown of our population. I read once that if we didn't have immigration, our population would dwindle and we would become a weak nation.

Viagra is NOT about ego. It is about the vessels in the penis. This is caused by aging or damage caused by the prostate gland. This is a medical condition. There are more people getting to retirement age than ever before. (The baby boomer generation) I know all the teenagers will be grossed out thinking about their parents or even grandparents actually having sex. Get over it. Its part of a healthy loving relationship, no matter how old you are. Would you vounteer to give up sex? At what age?

They need viagra because they're unable to perform well because it's a lazy fast food nation which affects health and therefore how they perform.
Also, some try it out of curiosity to 'see what happens' like I did. It made me stay up even after cumming, so it was helpful but I didn't need it because I avoid mcdonalds and try my best to exercise.

TThere are a lot of medical contributors to erectile dysfunction. Diabetes, alcohol abuse, age factors. The list goes on. I don't think there is anything wrong with taking those meds. A healthy relationship with a deep connection includes physical love. Why should anyone have to comprise that connection?

It is one of those fad drugs.
You may have hit the nail on the head about the inadequacy issues in the men of our society.

I personally think these drugs have to be unhealthy for a man...

Only spammers (junk/advertisers) think that. I get several spam a day in all of my e-mail accounts advertising that. I find it both annoying and insulting.
