I'm more interested in having a career as an international teacher.
Not one of those 1-year stints in Asia.

Thanks!

I've trained a lot of international teachers and my nephew has been teaching in Japan for 5+ years (married, had child, opened English school). Here's what the pros/cons are, in my opinion (and his): Pros.. 1.Exposure to foreign culture(s) 2.travel during holidays 3.good pay, few taxes 4.being a big fish in a little pond 5.being desired by opposite sex (big one for guys)....Cons: 1.high cost of living (some countries) 2.being in a foreign culture (it will never become your own and you won't really be accepted except superficially) 3.estrangement from your family 4.over-developed sense of own importance (become egocentric) 5.marrying out of one's culture & not having a mutual social/cultural background/common ground.. yes, sex is fine, but what do you talk about the rest of the time??..according to whose culture do you raise your children??..6.resented by the local guys for your "luck & prowess" 7. you become "neither fish nor fowl" in either your host country or your own.
