What does it matter? She was the wife of a not particularly enlightened military dictator. What kind of person she was is completely beside the point.

The equivilent of Evita would be Hillary Clinton.
Not everyone will agree with her and some will thnk she is in it for the power.
However, there are those who believe she truly cares about the people and her intentions are true.

People painted her in a bad light and tried to tear apart her character after her death. I think the reality is more that life dealt her a crappy hand and she did her best to pull herself above that. She was much loved by the people of Argentina and that should never be overlooked.
