babies can sense nervousness so they react to it...its normal..the more comfortable you are the more comfortable they are

infants can sense when someone is truly comfortable holding them. if you are unsure of yourself, they feel it.

remember that a baby cries to do ALL of their communication.

if you are holding the baby in your arms, try laying it's little head up onto your shoulder and supporting under it's behind with one hand and gently patting it's back while making some soft "shhh" type sounds.

sing to the baby. they don't care if you are Grammy Gold or can't carry a tune - the sound of your CALM voice makes them become calm.

be confident. with a little more practice and a lot more patience, you will be a baby holding pro in no time at all!

It could be for any reason and may not have anything to do with you at all. Babies cry alot.
If you think it's you I can only suggest that maybe the baby is not in a comfortable position or that you maight be uneasy holding the baby. If that is the case babies can sense you uneasiness, and if you are they will become that way.

Babies go through a stage where strangers scare them, sometimes a stranger to them can be anyone other that mom or dad.

The other reason i can think of is do you have a low voice, babies like high voices.

They just do that sometimes when the baby is a little older you might be his/her favorite person.

Snuggle her a little closer. She'll feel safer.
