I draft for fantasy a Baseball team this sunday and this is my first season. For example in football you always want a RB stable, are there any rules of thumb i should follow? i.e. Always draft hitters 1st couple picks, best athelete, etc... If you could rank Pitchers, OF, hitters and so forth how would you draft?

Anyone know of a place I could mock draft with others to get a feel for where guys tend to go? Free would be nice as well

The most scarce positions in fantasy baseball are 2B and SS, so if you can target them early you'll do much better.

Starting pitching is something that I personally do not draft before the 10th inning, there are just so many of them and it's incredibly easy to find decent ones on the waiver wire once the season starts...

I also tend to take at least one speed guy in the first 5 rounds because power guys are a lot easier to find later in the draft than speed...

I would say go for hitters first couple of rounds unless Santana is available.. no other pitcher is worth a top 3 round pick and pitching is very deep and usually goes late in fantasy drafts this year... as far as specific hitters positions, SS and 2B need to be targeted in the early to middle rounds as you will not find any good ones available later on... as for the other positions just go for best available!

Try and get your middle infield as early as u can, its pretty thin as far as good all-around guys. I try and get Reyes or Utley with my first pick unless Pujols or Soriano is avaiable. 1B and OF are loaded this year so I wouldn't go crazy trying to fill them early in the draft. MI and RP are 2 positions that are important too me. Of course all drafts take on thier own personality so if i were you I'd go over to espn and take part in some Mock or Live drafts.....rankings are a little diffrent but you will get an idea of how people think.

1 1st baseman= always do everything 4 ya! (pujols,howard)
2 Pitchers, usually decider of game for win or loss(dfence #1)
3 O.F. no dearth of them, but get a bunch of good ranked ppl
4 SS, usually the base stealers
5 2nd basemen= see SS or just keep u alive
6 3rd basemen = see2nd basemen
7 catcher = usually go unnoticed, steal a gud 1 while u can

closers. they are the hardest to replace in fantasy baseball -- stock up on as many as u can. -- but always draft the best player available first pick.
