I was at the hospital for some testing and they noticed that my unborn sons heart has an arrhythmia. They called my doctor and the doctor told me that it is very common and not to worry about it. Could she not be telling me something so i dont worry? Has this ever happend to anyone?

CONGRATS ON YOUR PREGNANCY!

It is common. I am 23 weeks and my daughter has one too. That is why i am extra cautious when i do not feel her move within a 5 hour tI'me frame. they say 10 but im not chancing anything.

I have been going to the OB every 2 weeks since i was 4 weeks pregnant so they can monitor her and have been on bed rest a few times. Often times they do grow out of it before they are born. Other times it takes a year or 2 of monitoring but often nothing happens and they grow out of it. My friend has a daughter with a heart murmur and she is perfectly normal (8 mos old). I also have a friend who is a doula and another who is a Peds RN and i know they would not tell me anything wrong.

Call your doctor and talk with them about this new development. Someone in the office should be able to answer any questions that you do have and ease your mind or honestly let you know if this means something more. One thing I can say from experience is that my mom recently shared with me that she was told I had an arrhythmia when I was born and I haven't had any problems. She just thought I should know now that I am pregnant with my first child. Good Luck.

Your baby is fine, I read in one of my baby books that this is very very normal. The hospital should not have told you about it, since it is just causing you unneeded concern. Your baby's heart is just learning how to work and is going to skip around and maybe even stop a little bit, it's all fine.

Why would your doctor not be telling you something? It is their job to let you know all of the information that is necessary. How would your doctor benefit from not telling you. If you have trust issues you need to address them or find another doctor. Also you can ask a health nurse at a clinic. they would be able to answer all of your questions or get the answers for you. Good Luck!

My daughter had the same thing, I was worried cause heart murmors (spelling?) run on my husbands side of the family bad. But when she was born she was fine. They checked for awhile but she was all good. Good luck!!
