Few days go a consulting company contact me and asked me to come to FL but i'm in different state. She is asking me to be there by MArch 20 and take the tests. Not willing to take phone interview and not paying traveling expenses and relocation expenses. I really like this job. But I don't want to spend $1000 on ticket and everything and find out I didn't get the job. Do you think I should go????? Should I email her back that i'm not interested....or should i not say anything and let her figure it out i'm not interested

Reply to them and let them know that you are just unable to spend the kind of money they are looking for unless the job is guaranteed. Ask them if there is any place local that you can take the same (or similar) tests.

DEFINATELY dont just let it pass you by without saying anything. If they are really interested, they may just be playing cheap at first, but will offer some compensation to come down. Call them back.

If the job intrigues you, then call and say that you don't want to dish out the kind of money required for a short notice trip and if you can make it in a few weeks.

If the company is not willing to try to facilitate you since you are in a different state and you are not certain that you will get the job then please inform them that you are unable to attend due to financial difficulties. If they are really interested in you, they will then suggest some mutual arrangement.

Call. At the minimum, be professional and do the right thing. Ask if there is an alternative, if not, politely decline. You'll feel better and why burn a bridge for no good reason?
