Detroit. They have more playoff experience.

Utah would probably take the series in 6.

They overmatch them at every position except shooting gaurd, but Derek Fischer and Gordon Giricek are able defenders to slow down Rip Hamilton.

Kirilenko is finally starting to steadily improve and is blocking shots again. His points haven't gone up, but the rest of his numbers have, especially his assists. (Since he came back from his back injury.)

The Pistons don't have anyone who can stop Boozer or Okur, and Harpring off the bench has been fantastic.

Utah swept the series this season (granted by a combined 3 points), but Utah has been hotter than Detroit lately, and if they played right now, Utah would definatley win.

I give the Pistons 2 games because they are a scrappy team and have more experience winning in 7 game serieses than the Jazz.

It depends on whether or not AK-47 can play as intense as he did last season without getting injured.

If AK gets hurt in Game 1, Detroit wins in 4.
If AK plays like he has all year (2007, not the 2006-07 season), Detroit wins in 6 or 7 (depending on which team has home court advantage).
If AK plays as was described at the beginning of this answer, Utah wins in 6 or 7 (again, depending on the home court advantage).

Only a devastating injury to Detroit will allow Utah to win in less than 6 games.

Wow that's tough,
But I gotta say Pistons because the jazz have been playing well, they are on a slide right now, and the thing is the question would be now or in a couple of years,
Now I would take the pistons because they also have chris webber who is playing like a point forward for them and the team hasn't seen the playoffs yet.
But in the future i would take Jazz because Deron williams, and Boozer will have been more experienced, they have never been to the playoffs yet.
Hope this helps

I think It's going to be the Jazz. Jazz are a really good team I don't think the Pistons will have a 7 game series from what they are doing.

pistons have a better starting 5 but utah have better bench

point guards : Deron Williams - Chauncey Billups
I think same type of players but this season willams is very effective he is second in assist and he is scoring about 18 points a game he must be all star if he was playing on east but Billups is more experienced and he is all star

shooting guards: Derek Fisher - Richard Hamilton
Hamilton is much more better player than Fisher he is the best mid range shooter in the league and he is an all star

small forwards: Andrei Krilenko - Tyshaun Prince
again same type of players Krilenko is not active this year becouse boozer has returned and boozer uses most of the balls with okur. and he is not too happy with his role in the team but in the playoffs everyone gives his best. prince is better 3,pt shooter

power forwards:Carlos Boozer - Rasheed Wallace
Carlos has mid range shots, post up plays. he is one of the best rebounders in the nba he is playing his best season this year but Wallace is playing the worst season this year becouse team doesnt need it. but he can still make 3pt shots and he is very agreesive player he can play very well if he wants

Centers:Mehmet Okur - Chris Webber.

Memo is an all star he is the best 3,pt shooting center in nba he is playing out side the arc most of times in offence this year not like a center player but he can score as well when he play in painted area. he is the most 3pt field goal maded player in jazz history. Webber was the one of the best players in the league while he was in sacramento but he is still one of the talented big men in nba he can make mid range shots in fact he is a power forward but he is playing in center position becouse of team squad he is playing well now but memo is better now

in 7 game series utah will win they have better team and friendship in the team

dude, much i like the pistons, i say the jazz because they are my favourite team!

head-to-head this season, they swept the pistons. they also got the better of the pistons last season...

it seems okur always hits the clutch baskets against his former team... the jazz have more firepower in d-will, boozer, fisher, harpring, giricek... millsap has been a rookie revelation...
