I wouldn't let their opinions bother me. I would treat them as if they are of no consequence to me. Carry on and just be yourself.

I once worked in an office like that - AgilQuest. A guy there named George pretty much ran the show from upstairs -- he had influence BIG TIME and management liked him. If George didn't like you, you were screwed -- he would make sure on a daily basis that you were in management's sights by going directly to them and mentioning your faults and his own personal issues -- sort of a "let's send a message and make sure management gets it on a daily basis kinda thing" -- This also makes it really tough to enjoy making a living for your family too...

My advice is, take note of that person, listen to them for whatever they're worth and then find some other place to work.

Being run down on a daily basis by someone else who has more influence than you is definitely not the way to get yourself promoted in the long term. It is also best to avoid personal conflicts with those nut cases whenever possible, especially direct and pointed verbal assaults from guys who have more influence than you do in the company -- they can spell trouble for you in short order.

Wish you all the best, cheers !

thats it no details. is it your perception or do you know that they are jealous? If it truly is jealously then consider a new employer or just put you head down and get to work over time things can and usually resolve you didn't state how long you have been working for this employer.
