Yes possibly. A result of 251 would be read as a positive result (as in a confirmed pregnancy) but as for it being a "good sign" it really depends on how many weeks pregnant you are, and whether this level continues to increase.

Actual levels of hCG can vary dramatically from woman to woman - what is a "good sign" is that the levels double every 48-72 hours in the first trimester, peaking at about week 11.

It depends on how pregnant you are. that sounds like a number for someone who is pregnant maybe 3 weeks or so.

With this pregnancy, I was 4 weeks when i took mine and i was 734.... with in 2 days at that point my levels were 15??.. if the numbers produce like that in 2 days, that is how they determine the viability of the pregnancy. they want to see the numbers at LEAST double in 48 hours. If they do not double, that is when the OB gets concerned.

hcg is not normally found in non pregnant women or men.

Depends...how far along are you and what test number is this? One, or two? It's always more important that your hcg numbers double every 36-48 hours.
