DH should never, ever deserve to win MVP.

MVP is for the most valuable player to the team, and anyone who doesn't contribute defensively couldn't possibly be as valuble as somoene else who does. He needs to contribute a complete effort to his own team!

It's odd they say that the MVP should go to either the best player in the league or the most valuable player to his team and how is was Ortiz not either in 2005? Well writers hate the DH and will punish Ortiz for being one, so I would say never. As for the whole DH rule I say keep it because pictures make a case for the rule to be needed because it would be an insult to women to say baseball pictures swing like girls.

David Ortiz will in no way win the AL MVP at the same time as being a DH. with the intention to be the mvp you bought to do extra effective than come off the bench and swing a bat, then turn the bat, and run very slowly.

No he won't and he shouldn't win an MVP. An MVP should be someone who plays in the field. The award is for the Most Valuable Player, not he Most Valuable Batter. Anybody that puts up numbers close to his, and there are those that put up better, and plays the field also is definitely more valuable than a DH.

I could see him winning it this year if he stays healthy all year and the Sox win the East. I think the additions the Red Sox made, especially adding Lugo to the top of their lineup, will help Ortiz's stats, and I could see him hitting 60 HR and driving in 150 while scoring over 100 and improving his average from last year. While he has to struggle against the DH hate, if he outperforms all the other players they will have to give it to him.

Ortiz shouldn't ever win an MVP because he dosen't play defense. The AL has too much talent for a DH to ever win the MVP.

He won't win and for 2 reasons which are not in his control. 1 he plays with Many, and they invariably split votes.
2 he doesn't field, ( and thank goodness for that by the way)

It will be hard to do as a DH. He will have to have much better numbers than a position player with like numbers.

no because mlb will continue with the same thing which im not really a fan of but since its david ortiz i dont really care. they think that u need to be able to play defense to win the mvp but it doesnt really matter to me.

No, definently NOT, He can bat but he can't field!
He better get another position like first base and improve!

BATTING IS NOT THE WHOLE BALLGAME!

He could get 70 hrs 160 rbis and .360 BA and still wouldnt get a MVP.
